She will also introduce the Nature-Informed Therapy program, coming to Salt Lake City this summer, which offers continuing education opportunities for social workers and counselors.

Crawl, climb and fly with ‘Amazing Butterflies’ at Swaner EcoCenter!

Park City, UT --- Swaner invites visitors to transform into caterpillars and journey through a butterfly’s fascinating lifecycle at “Amazing Butterflies” Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm from January 18 – May 4. Through this hands-on maze of larger-than-life leaves, grass and trees, visitors experience the challenges of being a caterpillar as it morphs into a beautiful butterfly. Along the way, they’ll discover the ways caterpillars move, what they eat, and how other creatures help them achieve their transformation.

Planting Parties: Utah Lake Revegetation Efforts

Join the Utah Lake Authority in their ongoing efforts to restore the shoreline by helping to plant native vegetation and combat invasive species like Phragmites australis. With significant success in reducing invasive weeds, the next step is reintroducing native plants to improve water quality, enhance wildlife habitats, and build a more resilient ecosystem. Volunteers can participate in organized planting events with groups of 15 or fewer, or larger groups of 30 or more can schedule their own events. Bring your gloves, sturdy footwear, and a willingness to get your hands dirty as we work together to protect and restore Utah Lake!

Bird Surveys: Calling all bird lovers! Join Tracy Aviary’s conservation team for weekly bird surveys across the Salt Lake Valley. These bird walks are a great opportunity to explore various sites, learn about local birds, and help gather important data for ongoing conservation projects. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or a beginner, these walks are open to all skill levels. RSVP is required, so don’t miss out on this chance to get outside and contribute to important wildlife research!

2025 Indoor Seed Starting & Microgreens (Additional Session): Get ready for the growing season with this hands-on workshop on indoor seed starting and microgreens! Learn the basics of planting indoors, creating a planting calendar, and growing microgreens for fresh greens all year round. Due to high demand, an additional session is being offered, so don’t miss your chance to attend. Plus, each participant will receive free microgreen supplies to get started right away! Registration is required for this popular session.

Jordan River Trail Clean-Up: Help keep the Jordan River Trail in Glendale clean and safe for everyone! Join us for a light trash pick-up to help protect the local wildlife and improve the trail for both walkers and cyclists. This community-driven clean-up event supports the health of the river ecosystem and creates a cleaner, safer space for all trail users. No registration is required, so come on out and make a difference!
