New Resource!

National Geographic Explore and Fellow at MIT’s Senseable City Lab recently released her book, “The Nature of our Cities, Harnessing the Power of the Natural World to Survive a Changing Planet.” Check out a recent NPR interview with her as she discusses her book and shares recommendations for individuals and leaders to get more connected to nature.

July Community Events

As July heats up, exciting events are in full swing! Get outside, bring your friends or family, and join us for these thrilling community gatherings. Here are three events we can't wait for:

Wasatch Wildflower Festival at Brighton: The Wasatch Wildflower Festival is a multi-day celebration of the diverse wildflowers in the Wasatch Mountains, featuring guided walks, kids' crafts, music, and food. Founded in 1996, this free, family-friendly event promotes environmental stewardship and is open to all ability levels.
Sundance Film Festival: Join us on July 17 and 18 for the Sundance Film Festival: Local Lens at the Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre, where you can enjoy film festival favorites under the stars. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and be prepared for chilly evenings; films are shown rain or shine, with possible delays for lightning or high winds.
Susan Makov Art Exhibit: Tree Language: From July 26 to August 26, explore Susan Makov's "Tree Language" exhibit at Red Butte Garden, featuring paintings that blend natural textures and abstract narratives inspired by myths and landscapes. Meet the artist at a special reception on July 27 from 2-5 PM and delve into the mystery of forests and the enchanting language of trees.
